ARREST: Armed Robbery at Joy Mart

Durham, NC - (January 28, 2020) Late last week, investigators from the Durham County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division were able to identify the suspect seen in the previously released video of an armed man robbing the Joy Mart on Glenn School Rd. Evidence in this investigation led them to arrest Jonathon Winfred High 18, of Durham. High is charged with:
robbery with a dangerous weapon
conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon
injury to personal property
2 counts assault by pointing a gun
High was on probation for previous felony charges at the time of his arrest. He is currently in the Durham County Detention Center on a $25,000 secured bond.

Durham, NC- (January 21, 2020) - The Criminal Investigation Division of the Durham County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the man seen in the attached video.

On Sunday, January 19, 2020, at approximately 10:17 p.m. an unknown armed man entered the Joy Mart located at 1624 Glenn School Road. He demanded someone open the register but became impatient and jumped over the counter, ripped the cash drawer away from its bolted attachments and left the store. The suspect then got into a waiting vehicle. The car, which had previously been reported stolen, was abandoned a short distance away.
