DURHAM (Tuesday, March 24, 2026) - Investigators with the Durham County Sheriff’s Office continue to follow leads in last night's shooting on Wake Forest Hwy.

The victim, whose identity is being withheld due to the nature of the ongoing investigation, remains hospitalized for treatment. Detectives believe this was an isolated incident and that the victim was shot at a different location before being located on the 3700 block of Wake Forest Hwy.

This remains an active investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Durham County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) at 919-560-0880. The following information was released Monday, March 23, 2026, at 7:50 p.m.
The Durham County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shooting. At approximately 6:30 p.m., a single victim who is believed to have been shot at an unknown location, was found on the 3700 block of Wake Forest Hwy. They were taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.  At this time it appears to be an isolated incident.  This is an active investigation and more information will be released when appropriate.
