Durham, NC (Tuesday, December 30, 2025) – Durham County Sheriff Clarence F. Birkhead announces the arrest of a convicted felon in connection with an incident last night just south of the Durham Freeway (Highway 147).

Just before midnight, DCSO Patrol Units observed a car with a factiously displayed tag near the intersection of South Alston and Linwood Avenues. Moments after the same vehicle turned onto Linwood, a traffic stop was initiated. The driver pulled over, exited the vehicle, and attempted to walk away from the location on foot before deputies apprehended the subject without further incident about30 yards from the parked vehicle.

The investigation has revealed the subject is a convicted felon. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of two (2) stolen firearms and multiple narcotics. After being taken into custody, the subject was transported to the Durham County Detention Center and charged with numerous offenses.
