DCSO Patrol Seizes Firearms After Traffic Stop

DURHAM, NC (Friday, December 5, 2025) – Durham County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies have charged a Durham teen and are looking for another, after a traffic stop netted guns and drugs.

Just after 1:00 AM on Friday, December 5, a deputy from the Durham County Sheriff’s Office was on routine patrol in the area of NC 98 and Patterson Rd when they observed a vehicle run a red light.  The deputy activated their blue lights in an attempt to stop the vehicle; however, the driver attempted to flee by turning onto Ravenstone Ln., a short distance from the intersection.  At that time, they struck a brick monument at the entrance to the neighborhood.  After the crash, the passenger in the vehicle jumped and ran from the scene.  The deputy made contact with the driver and called EMS for minor injuries he sustained in the crash. As part of the investigation, deputies searched the vehicle and located approximately 47 grams of marijuana and (2) two Semi-Automatic Draco handguns.

Charged in this incident is 19-year-old Bryson Louis Bland-Queen of Durham.
