Durham, NC (Friday, April 10, 2026) – An arrest has been made related to a homicide that occurred in Durham County on November 2, 2025, along the 6100 block of Guess Road.
The investigation revealed that the wanted subject, identified as Carlos Anuel Medina Robles, was formally charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of the victim, Luis Alberto Flores. As a result of coordinated investigative efforts with the Durham County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division (CID) and the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and U.S. Marshals Service, DCSO was able to identify Mr. Robles and determine his whereabouts out of state.
Yesterday (April 9, 2026), the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force located Mr. Robles in Ward, North Dakota. It was there that the wanted subject was taken into custody without incident.
Extradition proceedings are pending relative to this specific criminal case.

This morning, just after 8:00 a.m., deputies were called to the 6100 block of Guess Rd. to conduct a death investigation. On arrival, a single victim was located deceased from an apparent gunshot wound on the exterior of a business. The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is on scene at this hour gathering evidence. This is believed to be an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public. More information will be released when appropriate.
