Sheriff's Office Launches New Mobile App & Residents Survey
DURHAM, NC (Sunday, October 5, 2025) – Durham County Sheriff Clarence F. Birkhead today announced two (2) strategic communications initiatives designed to better connect the Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) with the public.
“Transparency and trust are crucial to achieving our ultimate goal of enhancing public safety for our residents—both here in Durham County and beyond,” Sheriff Birkhead said. “We are living in a mobile and modern society, so to better meet that challenge we are launching a new mobile ‘app’ that now delivers real-time information to anyone who downloads it."
We are also announcing a new survey that's live right now so Durham residents can tell us more about the job we are doing," added Sheriff Birkhead. "The feedback we receive from our local community will help DCSO to become an even better law enforcement office.”
DCSO Mobile Application
The "DCSO App" is now available in the Google Play Store and the App Store and is designed to help the office:
- Communicate with the community during emergencies.
- Provide quick access to important information.
- Allow residents to send in tips, report concerns, and stay more connected to the Sheriff's Office.
