CALL TO TIPLINE RESULTS IN DRUG AND PROSTITUTION BUST
Durham, N.C. – Thanks to the help of the citizens of Durham County, detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division have arrested a man involved in a drug trafficking and prostitution enterprise. After receiving a complaint about prostitution at the Extended Stay Hotel on NC Hwy 55 near I-40 detectives began a lengthy surveillance operation at that location. As a result, they were able to identify subjects involved in prostitution including the person in charge of the operation. He is identified as 29-year-old Marcel Antonio Williams of Durham. Today at approx 3:00 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted on Williams. During a search of his vehicle the following was recovered.
53 Adderall tablets 10 Oxycodone tablets 14 Xanax tablets 11.9 grams of heroin 12 bindles of heroin 10 grams of powder cocaine 7 grams of crack cocaine 85 dosage units of crack cocaine 25 grams of marijuana 5.3 grams of “Molly” 1 gram of Crystal Methamphetamine 2 dosage units of Suboxone Glock 19 9mm handgun with a laser attachment
And a large amount of US Currency
Williams was charged with the following:
Trafficking by Possession Heroin
Trafficking by Transport Heroin
Trafficking by Possession Cocaine
Trafficking by Transport Cocaine
Maintaining a Vehicle for the Sale/Storage of Controlled Substances
Possess Firearm by Convicted Felon
Carrying a Concealed Gun
Possess Drug Paraphernalia
Williams is currently in the Durham Couty Detention Center under a $750,000 bond.
